Vomiting in early pregnancy is normal and most common symptom of first trimester. This happens due to changes in hormones especially beta-HCG.It is more common in women with twin pregnancy.If the vomiting is excessive it is termed Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Sometimes it requires hospitalization specially if this vomiting is excessive and has caused dehydration. This can be checked by a simple test called urinary ketone bodies. Presence of ketone bodies in urine calls for admission and administration of fluids & treatment.
Some tips:–
· Keep yourself hydrated.
· Small & frequent meals
· Ginger & lemon are antiemetic so include them in diet.
